What does it mean to Integrate?

Portland Integrated Health & Sports Medicine is my personal clinical dream.

The term Integrative Medicine is complicated, vague and needs to be attached to a substance to have relevance.  It is the opposite of one, a team of clinicians that are working together and collaborating on patients healthcare needs to achieve the goal of improving overall health status.  The complications is apparent on the models that have failed, clinical models that are ill defined and those that have faulted to claim integration.

What are the Challenges?

  • Humans – We are perplexed by relationships already (working and personal), Integrative Medicine stages a professional medical relationship that exists to best improve the well-being of someone else.  It is a noble altruistic act.  Personalities are sure to flare, the proper combination must be calculated.
  • The Model – How does everyone get paid?  How do referrals actually work?  Daily stressors of an integrative medical clinic is to accommodate each clinicians and patients needs and ultimate requests.  Finances, business practices, productivity and a  communication.

Does PIHSport have the answers?

We believe in the simplicity of healthcare should include working together for the greater good.  The business practices and rewards for our clinicians for being able to work in this environment should be notable.  Patients should see results and experience a sense of safety and comfort.  Our interpretation of integrative medicine is deeply rooted in the philosophy of choice and creating well being and health through team work.

What will you derive from your Integrative Medical Experience?
